The film above was created from footage made of cello strings moving in slow motion and using motion amplificiation - unique way to view the strings which would not have been available in the past.
As a young violinist, harmonics and how the sound is created was a big mystery so at Music College I had a chance to do a module on Acoustics which inspired an interest in how music/sound is created using various instruments. I feel understanding the physics element benefits the playing as you can use it to your advantage to enhance and improve sound quality, especially on stringed instruments.
Filmed using Freefly's Ember and Wave Slow Motion Cameras. The Motion Amplification is a special feature of the Wave software allowing small movements to be easily visualised.
